Serious watermelons
We came across some serious watermelons on the sidewalk in front of a fruit stand in Palermo yesterday. They were larger than bicycle tires.

When i was 13, my school had a concert. One of the songs included the line:
"Melons! Won't you buy my juicy melons!"
The female soloist charged with singing this catchy ditty was the most, shall we say, 'advanced' girl at the school for her age. We all thought it highly amusing and it still makes me smile today.
I don't know what being the smartest girl in the class has to do with melons, but it's nice that you had fun in school.
